Being retired has just meant that I am busier than ever with my own work. I still Demo for a few major UK companies which I love. It's nice to meet new people and help them out with their crafting and artwork whether they are experienced or a beginner.<br />
<br />
I love Mixed Media and am currently working on a few large canvasses - my canvasses seem to be getting bigger and bigger.<br />
<br />
I love experimenting with new products and techniques so there will be a few videos to come on here and YouTube too soon.<br />

<i><b><span style="font-size: large;"><br /></span></b></i>
Here are the two techniques I devised for Imagination Crafts using the new Starlight Paints as Sue used on the new Hochanda channel "Imagination Crafts" show seen yesterday 10th Sept.<br />
<br />
<div style="text-align: center;">
<b><u>Technique No 1. - Painted flowers using Starlight Paint. </u></b></div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-eLvHHnmXfVA/VfLVX0NaVYI/AAAAAAAAB1k/3SRjyFruAN8/s1600/resized.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="276" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-eLvHHnmXfVA/VfLVX0NaVYI/AAAAAAAAB1k/3SRjyFruAN8/s320/resized.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-RADhOSyRwh0/VfLYMf-ouWI/AAAAAAAAB2A/aO1al5Lv2Fk/s1600/ic%2B10.9.15%2B003.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-RADhOSyRwh0/VfLYMf-ouWI/AAAAAAAAB2A/aO1al5Lv2Fk/s320/ic%2B10.9.15%2B003.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
These flowers and leaves were painted with "Starlight Paints" - to get this affect you load your paint brush with two different colours (one either side of the brush) then press down the brush down onto dark cardstock and wiggle to spread the colour into a petal shape leaving the darker colour in the middle.. Lift off the brush and do the same again to create another petal. Turn the cardstock to make it easier to paint each petal in turn until you have a complete flower,</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
The leaves were done in a similar way but you just press down and spread the colour onto the cardstock whilst wiggling the brush a little then turn the brush and lift away from the card which will then form a point. Do the same for the other side of the leaf and then, when dry, cut them out to use as embellishments. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<b><u>Technique 2- "Sparkle Medium" Large Glitter</u></b></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<b><u><br /></u></b></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Spread some Sparkle Medium onto a Craft Mat and let it dry out. Scruch it up into big flakes and use this to stick onto your cardstock like big glitter. It looks fabulous if you use lots of different colours too. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-rFXLCxfFgkQ/VfLYENNWi_I/AAAAAAAAB1w/s-cHDeZ8Kh4/s1600/ic%2Bfeb%2Bmid%2Bmonth%2Binspiration%2B001%2Breduced.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="298" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-rFXLCxfFgkQ/VfLYENNWi_I/AAAAAAAAB1w/s-cHDeZ8Kh4/s320/ic%2Bfeb%2Bmid%2Bmonth%2Binspiration%2B001%2Breduced.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-kt7sI5VW4zo/VfLYFzqjm9I/AAAAAAAAB14/6U-ZkySNyZs/s1600/mush.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-kt7sI5VW4zo/VfLYFzqjm9I/AAAAAAAAB14/6U-ZkySNyZs/s1600/mush.jpg" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
I hope you like my new techniques - I'll try and get a video up on here for you to actually see how I| did this. Off now to play even more with my craft stash.......</div>

<br />
Here's another sample made for the Imagination Crafts show on Friday 24th July at 11.00 am.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-M6LubvnV2s4/Va9vJQbCjhI/AAAAAAAAByk/Pr18SoYauYQ/s1600/wedding%2Band%2Bic%2Bjuly%2B010.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="300" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-M6LubvnV2s4/Va9vJQbCjhI/AAAAAAAAByk/Pr18SoYauYQ/s400/wedding%2Band%2Bic%2Bjuly%2B010.JPG" width="400" /></a></div>
<br />
This time Iv'e used an MDF Sleigh stenciled with the lovely new "Starlight Paint" - Orange Oxidized.<br />
This paint seems to have magical powers - if you mix it with a little water it gives you a Silver sheen on the top of the colour. So unusual and adaptable, especially for those Christmas decorations. I love it and the colour range is fabulous.<br />
<br />
Watch the show for many more samples and lots of lovely new products. More to come very soon...Christine's Craftyart Bloghttp://www.blogger.com/profile/03963974688516066306noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3957534253141432682.post-79194360043706356332015-07-20T08:59:00.000+01:002015-07-20T08:59:03.180+01:00More Imagination Craft TV Show samples.Hi<br />
<br />
Iv'e been busy again making some samples for the Imagination Crafts Create and Craft show on July 24th at 11am.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-cTjj2FRUpE0/VayqHQMtxqI/AAAAAAAAByI/Jrsyi8Ofo-4/s1600/imaginaation%2Bcraft%2Bjuly%2Bshow%2B017.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-cTjj2FRUpE0/VayqHQMtxqI/AAAAAAAAByI/Jrsyi8Ofo-4/s320/imaginaation%2Bcraft%2Bjuly%2Bshow%2B017.JPG" width="240" /></a></div>
<br />
<br />
Iv'e been using Starlight Paints, MDF Chalk Paints Art Cutz - just wait until you see these - they are fab to work with and add that something special to all your projects.<br />
<br />
To make this frame I used two colours of chalk paints (watch the show on July 24th for details) and added the lighter colour at the top and darker at the bottom.<br />
<br />
I then painted the Art Cutz images in both colours and also used some Green Starlight paint. These were added top right and bottom left and that's all you need to do.<br />
So simple and looks lovely - all ready for that special photo.<br />
<br />
More samples to come very soon. Don't forget to watch the show for products and ideas.Christine's Craftyart Bloghttp://www.blogger.com/profile/03963974688516066306noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3957534253141432682.post-40201723878619828862015-07-06T13:37:00.001+01:002015-07-06T13:37:23.688+01:00My final post for WoW Design Team. Hi all<br />
<br />
This is my final post for on the WoW Embossing Powder Design Team. Iv'e thoroughly enjoyed my time with WoW but after approx 3/4 years, I thought it was time to leave the group and make way for fresh and exciting new talent especially as I'm moving on to crafty pastures new.<br />
<br />

<br />
<br />
This project was made using Viva Las Vegas stamps and inks. Go to the WoW blog<a href="http://wowembossingpowder.blogspot.co.uk/"> here</a> to see more of the projects from the WoW team using VLV products.<br />
<br />
I'm looking forward to seeing the fantastic projects made with WoW powders in the coming year and good luck to all the new Team members.Christine's Craftyart Bloghttp://www.blogger.com/profile/03963974688516066306noreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3957534253141432682.post-33001225469964021822015-07-03T07:07:00.001+01:002015-07-03T07:07:56.528+01:00Wedding Box/Treasure Box for that special occasionHere's my latest creation - a Wedding Box/Treasure Box<br />

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
For this Stand I mixed I.C. Gesso with Baking powder and spread it through a Snowflake Stencil then used my heat gun to make it expand a little. I then added the new I.C. Alchemy wax onto the board with my finger so that I could spread it between the raised snowflakes.<br />
<br />
These new Blackboard MDF Stands come with their own sticky-backed black sheet so that you could stick them to the board and write onto the boards with chalk. Iv'e created something a little different with my samples and included post-it notes for the Shopping List Stand and for the Christmas Stands Iv'e used Stencils and the new Art Cutz shapes which will be out soon.<br />
<br />
The paint Iv'e used is "Starlight" Paint - the new paint from Imagination Crafts that goes onto almost anything. Iv'e even used it for painting onto metal embellishments.<br />

If you are in the Honiton area on Friday then please join me for a FREE Demo of "Folk It" techniques - similar to Canal Art you can decorate lots of items for Home Decor using the Folk It kits. I'll be at OTTER NURSERIES in Ottery St Mary on Friday 15th from 10.00am - 4.00 p.m.<br />
<br />
I'll also be demoing how to use Chalk Paints and their uses. They work perfectly on MDF for crafting and home decor. Iv'e tried them for painting pictures and they work well so I'll be using the Chalk Paints in future on my projects. <br />
As promised another card made with one of my backgrounds - Iv'e used a waterproof ink pad and acrylic paints to add colour to these background papers.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-9P1J8znoD30/VUoz3Fhrr4I/AAAAAAAABtE/NlCUsg7yp24/s1600/landsc%2B004.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-9P1J8znoD30/VUoz3Fhrr4I/AAAAAAAABtE/NlCUsg7yp24/s1600/landsc%2B004.JPG" height="240" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
The papers are coated so water-based ink pads do not dry well on them but waterproof ink pads work well. They still need a little time to dry as does any acrylic paint you use on them.<br />
<br />
For this card Iv'e coloured my flowers with Gold Metallic and Lime Green Acrylic paint.Christine's Craftyart Bloghttp://www.blogger.com/profile/03963974688516066306noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3957534253141432682.post-19482009243747634572015-05-06T14:09:00.001+01:002015-05-06T14:11:09.534+01:00Imagination Crafts Celtic DiesHi all<br />

<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-57tnDANhbZ8/VSN9Xo7Gx4I/AAAAAAAABrg/IJzFen3OQVI/s1600/red%2Bnatures%2Bg.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-57tnDANhbZ8/VSN9Xo7Gx4I/AAAAAAAABrg/IJzFen3OQVI/s1600/red%2Bnatures%2Bg.jpg" height="400" width="300" /></a></div>
<br />
I used the new Nature's Gallery Tissue for the background and flowers and the Ultimate Die Cut pack for the embellishments. <br />
For this month I chose to make a 3 Heart Wall Hanger for my Imagination Crafts project. <br />
<br />
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-2jRLF_aDag4/VOtT4qXhmGI/AAAAAAAABpQ/q7V4bx19cvw/s1600/March%2BIC%2Breduced%2Bheart%2Bhanger.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-2jRLF_aDag4/VOtT4qXhmGI/AAAAAAAABpQ/q7V4bx19cvw/s1600/March%2BIC%2Breduced%2Bheart%2Bhanger.jpg" height="320" width="144" /></a><br />
Firstly I cut out 3 hearts of different sizes and painted them with Chalk Paints. I then added Crackle Medium then repainted each Heart so the cracks appeared when the paint dried.<br />
<br />
I then stamped some dots onto each heart around the edge for decoration. I used the Deco Branch Stencil with two colours of Sparkle Medium to finish each heart.<br />
<br />
Jump rings were threaded through the top of each heart and a chain added to all 3 so that the hearts hung down in a row. More to come using Imagination crafts products in the future.<br />
<br />
