Altered Booklet with my own Hand-made Silk Papers

Altered Book and Silk Paintings.

Hi all - something a bit different today.......

I thought I would show you this Altered Booklet I made a while ago using my own hand-made Silk papers.

I love making paper as you can add all sorts of bits and pieces which you can incorporate into the paper to add interest and dimension.  Iv'e used different fibres here but you can also add sequins, threads and even leaves from your garden into the papers. Much more to come in future on this subject I think.
I have lots of ideas I want to put into place. Lots to create and so little time......

Iv'e also been playing around with Silk Paints too. I love the effects that you can get if you add salt or even sugar to the piece when it's wet.  I can see lots more creations in the pipe-line coming your way very soon using silk paints and other crafty things.

I want to incorporate free-hand and machine stitching into the silk paintings to make something unique and useable for the house or to wear. I think scraves would be great using the silk painted technique and Iv'e got an Embellisher now so can't wait to get crafting with that. .

Talking of Embellishers, another hobby I have is making felt - take a look at my Pinterest Boards under "Nature's Beauty" here for a full range of my crafty creations.

I love felting and have made a few Wall Hangings for around the house using the wet felt method. You can also dry felt and make 3D objects. See my felted lady on my Pinterest Board  ( link above). No it's not a self- portrait.

Felted beads are on my list to make too. Iv'e already made a few felt necklaces and bracelets but I'll save them for another post. Hope you like what you see.

Happy crafting all.......

FREE Digi-Stamp -Landscape Scene.

Hi again - as promised here is you FREE Digi-stamp for March and this time Iv'e drawn a Landscape for you........

All you need to do is right click the image and copy it, then paste it into a suitable programme on your computer ready to print out and colour in with whatever medium you choose.

This scene can be used as a background and/or features added such as animal stamps or flowers etc., or you can just colour it in and use it as the main feature on your card or scrapbook page if you wish too.

Try using 4 images all on one card, all coloured differently for each season of the year. Cut it up into three to make a tiled triptych card. Colour it with Pro-Markers or watercolour pencils and see the different looks that you can achieve.

There will be another Digi-stamp on here again soon so keep coming back and you will be able to add to your collection. .

Love to design using my own stamps.

Landscapes and Scenic Views.

Iv'e been having a sort out of all my craft stash lately and it always inspires me to get crafting and use up some of the "stuff" I have lying around.

I have a few projects on the go at the moment and am busy using  my stamps (which are quickly selling out) and paints to create something a little unusual.  This landscape is made up of a variety of my stamps and embossed with WoW Embossing Powders..

My website is being re-vamped - I'm planning more tutorials on You Tube and here on my blog so it's all happening at the moment.

Iv'e posted a couple of cards here made up of my own stamps for you to see. Love designing stamps, painting, playing, creating with all sorts of things including fibres. More to come and of course your FREE Digi Stamp coming soon.........

Funky Feather Earrings.

My next Demonstration is at Otter Nurseries near Honiton on Sunday 24th February and this time I'll be making jewellery.

Pop along to say hello and join in - make yourself a lovely pair of earrings to take away with you. You never know, it may start you on a completely new inexpensive and easy hobby.
Earrings like these are great for presents so get prepared for those birthdays coming up and of course, dare I say it that scary word " Christmas"........Hope to see you there.

Wedding Jewellery

MAKE YOUR OWN WEDDING JEWELLERY.

With Spring approaching thoughts turn to Weddings  - with that in mind Iv'e made some wedding jewellery using the Cousins range of Trinketts bangles and white seed beads and pink pearls.

I threaded the seed beads onto 24 gauge craft wire then wrapped the wire round a solid Trinketts bracelet.

As I wrapped the wire round, I left a few longer pieces  to shape into flower petals. I then added ribbon to decorate the piece.

These could be made in different colours to suit the Wedding theme and could be used for the Bridesmaids to hold or even to decorate the table - wrap them round the glasses or as a wedding gift.

More to come on my blog very soon including your FREE Digi-stamp for March. Watch this space........
