Airbrushed Picture "Light is Life "

"Light is Life" picture - Airbrush on canvas

This picture was painted a while ago using an Airbrush - quite a challenge getting the hang of how an airbrush and compressor work and how to use masks to create the picture that you need.  It's sort of a reverse process but lots of fun all the same.

You have to be very delicate and not add too much paint. Less is more as they say. This picture represents life itself hence the " Light is Life" title.

Now Iv'e found my painting kit and airbrush again I must get down to creating more pictures in future.

I can't remember where the idea came from but I;m sure I saw a picture somewhere of hands and thought I would paint something similar.

Got the painting bug again...

Whooohoo - After a very busy ~Christmas and New Year I'm getting the painting bug again at last.

I love to paint and landscapes are my favourite subject - this picture is painted in oils and is of a Dorset Beach close to where I used to live. It's now on the wall of my new craft room.

The craft room will end up like a Gallery I expect - having your creations around you always inspires you to create more and more.

More pictures to come in future.

Imagination Crafts Fushia Stamp

Hi all,

I hope you are having a good New Year. Iv'e been busy making a Birthday Card from the lovely Imagination Crafts Decoupage Fushia Stamp set. This card compliments the gift box that \I made at the begining of the year.

Iv'e used inks and Micas for this project to colour the stamps along with the Dove from the Imagination Crafts MDF Dove Set for the feature at the bottom of the card.

To make the card I folded a square card diagonally along the left side - this made the step part.   I then embossed the card with a Butterfly embossing folder and inked it over to highlight the pattern. I also inked  edges too.  I used the Decoupage Fushia Stamp Set and stamped this with black waterproof ink, then blended the edges with blue and pink dye ink.

The image was coloured with pink and blue inks blended together to make the purpley/blue flowers and green and yellow inks on the leaves and stalks. I also added mica's to give the flowers a sheen.  Black irridescent adhesive gems were added to the flowers to finish.

The Dove, which acts as the stopper for the card was made using an MDF shape taken  from the Dove Set and I painted this over with inks then added mica to create a shine. A Happy Birthday stamp was used from the same set to finish.

Prodects used

Re-vamp your old Christmas boxes

Happy and Crafty New Year to you all,

I don't know about you but I hate to throw away all those gift boxes at Christmas so thought I would re-vamp one or two to keep my crafty goodies in for the New Year.

This old gift box was painted with white acrylic paint and purple paint. I stippled a few other colours such as lilac and pink to add interest then stamped images of branches on the top. I also added stippled micas to the top to add a sheen to the box.
I then stamped the Fushia stanmp onto white card and painted it with Imagination Craft mica powders. This was then cut out and stuck to the top of the box. To add depth and interest I added some adhesive gems to the flower and a bow round the box to finish.
