Bottle Top using moulding medium

My first attempt at using "Powertex"  - A Bottle Cover

This is a new creation made for a friend's Birthday. I bought this new medium at the Westpoint Craft show and absolutely love it.  This is a "Bottle Cover" which can be used for wine or perfume alike.

I can't wait to get creating using this fabulous medium. I love it as it's so versatile and comes in various colours and textures too.  Watch this space for many more creations soon....

From Autumn Leaf to Rose

From Leaf to Rose.

I made this Rose from some Maple leaves I picked up the other day.

The middle leaf was folded inward and wound around itself to form the centre bud.  I then added extra leaves getting larger and larger as I added them around the centre bud. They were stuck down with a Glue Gun and edged with Starlight Paint from Imagination Crafts.

Eventually they will perish but I cannot wait for all the Autumn colours to arrive to make more.

They would look lovely on a wreath for Christmas so I may spray them with Acrylic varnish to seal them in the hope that they last longer.

My new techniques for Imagination Crafts

My Starlight Paint Techniques for Imagination Crafts

Here are the two techniques I devised for Imagination Crafts using the new Starlight Paints as Sue used on the new Hochanda channel "Imagination Crafts" show seen yesterday 10th Sept.

Technique No 1.  - Painted flowers using Starlight Paint.

These flowers and leaves were painted with "Starlight Paints" - to get this affect you load your paint brush with two different colours (one either side of the brush) then press down the brush down onto dark cardstock and wiggle to spread the colour into a petal shape leaving the darker colour in the middle.. Lift off the brush and do the same again to create another petal. Turn the cardstock to make it easier to paint each petal in turn until you have a complete flower,

The leaves were done in a similar way but you just press down and spread the colour onto the cardstock whilst wiggling the brush a little then turn the brush  and lift away from the card which will then form a point. Do the same for the other side of the leaf and then, when dry, cut them out to use as embellishments.

Technique 2- "Sparkle Medium" Large Glitter

Spread some Sparkle Medium onto a Craft Mat and let it dry out. Scruch it up into big flakes and use this to stick onto your cardstock like big glitter. It looks fabulous if you use lots of different colours too.

I hope you like my new techniques - I'll try and get a video up on here for you to actually see how I| did this. Off now to play even more with my craft stash.......

Create and Craft TV - July 24th at 11am

Hi folks,

Here's another sample made for the Imagination Crafts show on Friday 24th July at 11.00 am.

This time Iv'e used an MDF Sleigh stenciled with the lovely new "Starlight Paint" - Orange Oxidized.
This paint seems to have magical powers - if you mix it with a little water it gives you a Silver sheen on the top of the colour. So unusual and adaptable, especially for those Christmas decorations. I love it and the colour range is fabulous.

Watch the show for many more samples and lots of lovely new products. More to come very soon...

More Imagination Craft TV Show samples.

Hi

Iv'e been busy again making some samples for the Imagination Crafts Create and Craft show on July 24th at 11am.

Iv'e been using Starlight Paints, MDF Chalk Paints Art Cutz - just wait until you see these - they are fab to work with and add that something special to all your projects.

To make this frame I used two colours of chalk paints (watch the show on July 24th for details) and added the lighter colour at the top and darker at the bottom.

I then painted the Art Cutz images in both colours and also used some Green Starlight paint. These were added top right and bottom left and that's all you need to do.
So simple and looks lovely - all ready for that special photo.

More samples to come very soon. Don't forget to watch the show for products and ideas.

Imagination Craft Samples for Create and Craft TV

Hi all

As promised here are a few of the samples I made for the Create and Craft show today.

MDF Stands from Imagination Crafts -

For this Stand I mixed I.C. Gesso with Baking powder and spread it through a Snowflake Stencil then used my heat gun to make it expand a little. I then added the new I.C. Alchemy wax onto the board with my finger so that I could spread it between the raised snowflakes.

These new Blackboard MDF Stands come with their own sticky-backed black sheet so that you could stick them to the board and write onto the boards with chalk.  Iv'e created something a little different with my samples  and included post-it notes for the Shopping List Stand and for the Christmas Stands Iv'e used Stencils and the new Art Cutz shapes which will be out soon.

The paint Iv'e used is "Starlight" Paint - the new paint from Imagination Crafts that goes onto almost anything. Iv'e even used it for painting onto metal embellishments.

Click here:  Alchemy Wax and for the MDF Boards here to be taken to the  Create and Craft website.

Landscape Moon backgrounds from Imagination Crafts

Hi all

As promised another card made with one of my backgrounds - Iv'e used a waterproof ink pad and acrylic paints to add colour to these background papers.

The papers are coated so water-based ink pads do not dry well on them but waterproof ink pads work well. They still need a little time to dry as does any acrylic paint you use on them.

For this card Iv'e coloured my flowers with Gold Metallic and Lime Green Acrylic paint.

Imagination Crafts Celtic Dies

Hi all

Here's just a taster of one of the new backgrounds Iv'e designed for Imagination Crafts. They go so well with the Celtic Dies and add a full background to any image or to any Scenic Die.

I want to try them next with stamps and embossing powders to create even more scenic cards so watch this space for more in the very near future.....

Bird and Bird Box Canvas

Bird and Bird Box Canvas Tutorial

This canvas was made using Imagination Crafts products along with other bits and pieces.  I hope you get out your canvasses and try this method of using up your bits and pieces.

Please find below my tutorial for March.  Title : "Bird and Bird Box Canvas"

1.  Mix an equal amount of Bicarbonate of Soda and white acrylic paint and spread onto a canvas.  Place the Honeycombe stencil on top and spread more mixture on top again.

2.  Scratch lines into the surface for effect

3. Heat with a Heat gun and the paint and Bicarbonate of Soda mix will puff up.

4.  Add some more images from the Deco Branch Stencil and heat again.

5. Stamp, cut out and stick on Flower Stamp images from the Imagination Crafts Decoupage stamp sets and add other bits and pieces including string etc.

6.  Paint the whole canvas with white acrylic paints. When the White paint is dry, brush over the canvas with Blue Adirondak ink.

I loved creating this project and it's a great way to use up all your bits and pieces to make a work of art to use as home decor.

Imagination Crafts 3 Hearts Wall Hanger

Hi all

For this month I chose to make a 3 Heart Wall Hanger for my Imagination Crafts project.

Firstly I cut out 3 hearts of different sizes and painted them with Chalk Paints.  I then added Crackle Medium then repainted each Heart so the cracks appeared when the paint dried.

I then stamped some dots onto each heart around the edge for decoration. I used the Deco Branch Stencil with two colours of Sparkle Medium to finish each heart.

Jump rings were threaded through the top of each heart and a chain added to all 3 so that the hearts hung down in a row. More to come using Imagination crafts products in the future.

Imagination Crafts Inspiration =Celtic Dies

Hi all,

For the Imagination Crafts Inspiration Post this month Iv'e made this card using one of the lovely Celtic Dreams Dies.

To make this card I firstly covered a piece of cardstock with tissue paper, When dry I dropped Inkadinks onto the tissue and spritzed lightly with water then  let it dry thoroughly.  I mounted the card onto black cardstock and then onto a large white card inked around the edges.  The Die was cut from the Celtic Dreaams Die range using black cardstock. This was then added to the card.

I also cut out two Butterflies for the top and bottom of the card.

For the glitter, I spread a variety of Sparkle Medium onto a craft mat and let it dry.  Once dry I scrunched it up and dropped it onto the card at the top and bottom using PVA glue. I also added it to the butterflies and tops of the mushrooms to finish.

This card is a bit different but then I do like to do things a little bit out of the ordinary. Back soon with more creations.  See you again soon for more Inspiration.

Products used
