Imagination Crafts April Project
Here's my April blog post for Imagination Crafts. Iv'e used both stencils and stamps for this project.
Iv'e managed to at last find my Angelina Fibres (after much searching through my craft stash), so thought I would use the "Bird of Paradise" stamp with the fibres as an embellishment on this card and for the sentiment as well. It made a nice change to look forward to getting my iron out - a rare occasion for me. lol.
Firstly, I spread Azure Blue Sparkle Medium onto Bubbles Jade cardstock using the Deco Stencil. for the background. I used an 8" x 8" card and using the Deco stencil added blue ink through the stencil to give me a muted background. Ribbon was added to the left and bottom with a coloured flower with leaves and pearls attached.
For the main Embellishment, and sentiment, I firstly stamped the Bird of Paradise with black ink then placed it flat side down onto a heat-proof flat surface. I then added Angelina fibres straight onto the inked side (facing upwards). This was then covered with Parchment paper and I ironed carefully over the top so that the fibres melted against the stamp. This process shouldn't damage your stamps in any way as long as the iron isn't too hot.
I did the same thing with the sentiment too and added both embellishments to the card to finish. Angelina Fibres add dimension and interest to a card. This card makes a mock of "blue and green" should never be seen. I love these colours together.
