Cake Decorating Demo at Otter Nurseries

Cake Decorating Demo - Otter Nurseries Friday May 2nd

I'm busy preparing for my next Cake Decorating Demo at Otter Nurseries on Friday May 2nd.

Cake Decorating is so similar to clay work and you can use the silicone moulds for both crafts. Not the same mould I hasten to add as I keep a special set for cakes and another for clay for hygiene and health and safety purposes..

I have some TV samples to make again this coming week for Imagination Crafts and demo samples for docrafts too so am very busy at the moment.

I also have some exciting times ahead with Workshops so more on this subject once Iv'e sorted out some of the finer details. Watch this space for details in the near future.....

Sparkle Medium on Felt

Use Sparkle Medium on Material or Felt for a different look.

For the Imagination Crafts mid-month project Iv'e made a Felt Bag using Sparkle Medium and added an embellishment made with Air-Drying clay and stamps.

Sparkle Medium works well with Felt so Iv'e used two different colours (see product list below) to create this piece.

I also made an embellishment by pressing Air-Drying clay into an Imagination Crafts stamp then let it harden.  Once hard, I painted it with Mica Powders and stuck it onto the left side of the bag.

Ribbons were added to the top of the bag so that you could use the bag for a variety of purposes.  Great for presents, especially at Christmas as you could personalise the bags and put a variety of presents inside. Another creation to come soon.

Products used:

Sparkle Medium - Azure Blue

Stencil - Deco Branch

April's Imagination Crafts Project

Imagination Crafts April Project

Hi all

Here's my April blog post for Imagination Crafts.  Iv'e used both stencils and stamps for this project.
Iv'e managed to at last find my Angelina Fibres (after much searching through my craft stash), so thought I would use the "Bird of Paradise" stamp with the fibres as an embellishment on this card and for the sentiment as well.  It made a nice change to look forward to getting my iron out - a rare occasion for me. lol.

Firstly, I spread Azure Blue Sparkle Medium onto Bubbles Jade cardstock using the Deco Stencil. for the background.  I used an 8" x 8" card and using the Deco stencil added blue ink through the stencil to give me a muted background. Ribbon was added to the left and bottom with a coloured flower with leaves and pearls attached.

For the main Embellishment, and sentiment, I firstly stamped the Bird of Paradise with black ink then placed it flat side down onto a heat-proof flat surface.  I then added Angelina fibres straight onto the inked side (facing upwards). This was then covered with Parchment paper and I ironed carefully over the top so that the fibres melted against the stamp. This process shouldn't damage your stamps in any way as long as the iron isn't too hot.

I did the same thing with the sentiment too and added both embellishments to the card to finish.  Angelina Fibres add dimension and interest to a card. This card makes a mock of "blue and green" should never be seen. I love these colours together.
